It's the sheer level of consistency!

We spend a lot of our time thinking about how we can help Styck users, current and future, in making choices that will create a more active lifestyle.. It's a really simple goal to set, but to achieve it is a bit more challenging. At Styck we are always building features for the app, or relationships with brand partners, all in the pursuit of producing an awesome product that will ultimately make a difference.

So, we know that if we are to work towards something truly meaningful, then we need to be working at this everyday. It's consistency then that denotes the difference. This is something we were mindful of when we created the Styck Streak feature. This feature allows users to easily build a consistent habit of movement into their life; Building their Streak day scores for every day they complete over 7,000 steps. 

There are a number of people in our Styck community that reflect an inspiring level of dedication, achievement and consistency. And we take huge pride in sharing them with our audience and users.

In this blog post we want to share Mick's story. Mick lives in the UK and has his own Trybe (Farnham Fitties), he leads the way day-after-day, and shows us that an active life is a choice. Here's the story he shared with us:


"I'm 60 years of age, did 30 years as a Firefighter at my local town of Farnham. Fitness has always been a part of my life and was an essential part of my job. When I retired 3 years ago I needed an incentive to keep me active and stay hold of my health and fitness. The Gym was quite frankly boring, monotonous and far too expensive.

I was encouraged to join Styck a few months ago and I became a member of the Farnham Fitties. This has provided me with exactly what a want in every way. It's free and it gives me a competitive environment between both my fellow group members and on the worldwide ladder. Every step counts everyday. I have a streak of 43 days now and the incentive not to drop back to 0 drives me on to do a minimum of 7,000 steps no matter what. 

I know the rest of my group are the same, we broke the 2,000,000 between the 7 of us for this month, and we are all conscious of beating that every month. I've broken the 500,000 for two months now so that has become a target for me every month. Styck is the best motivator ever, you just have to do it. 

Walking is also the best medicine, and the best thing for your wellbeing, it clears the mind and soul and I can't think of a better way to spend my free time, I've never felt fitter. 

It has also encouraged me to go with a group of friends every week and do an organised walk, we have now completed the South Downs Way. Every section takes you through the most beautiful countryside imaginable. I'm so much looking forward to completing many other such routes.
